To define, manage and monitor the risk of non-compliance to applicable legislation and regulations as part of the overall risk management process and governance structures. The role also includes providing reasonable assurance to the FSCA Management that the organisation is compliant to regulatory and statutory requirements. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager: Governance Risk Assurance.
|Job Functions||Compliance & Regulatory Affairs|
Key Performance Areas:
•Development and maintenance of a compliance framework, policy, and procedures to define compliance management process at organisational level.
•Champion and facilitate implementation of the compliance framework, policy, systems, and processes across business units in conjunction with the Senior Manager: GRA and Chief Risk Officer.
•Prepare legislative impact summaries for use by the departments across the organisation to assess regulatory risk.
•Facilitate implementation and training of legislative compliance requirements.
•Assist with legal and compliance research.
•Coordinate the Compliance Unit’s work with the compliance work of the various Compliance champions.
•Monitor regulatory changes in laws and assess their impact to the organisation and advise management.
•Conduct adequacy and effectiveness assessments of controls in critical business areas and perform compliance reviews of high-risk Acts as per the compliance coverage plan.
•Provide accurate reporting of monthly and quarterly compliance reports and relevant information to the Senior Manager: GRA to enable escalation of potential high-risk areas to the FSCA EXCO and Risk Committee.
•Implement and embed FSCA compliance processes and methodology.
•Continuous analysis of the effectiveness of compliance processes and identification of required improvement including the design and maintenance.
•Continuously update the Compliance Risk Management Plans and the Compliance Manual.
•Conduct compliance awareness campaigns for all FSCA staff.

An appropriate bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a business / commercial field with at least 5 years’ appropriate experience in Compliance Management or Risk Management preferably within the Financial Services Industry or Regulator. Member of the Compliance Institute of South Africa would be an added advantage.
